FAQs
What are Scent Notes? A candle has three types of notes, a top note, a middle note, and a base note. Top Note: When the candle first burns or when you smell it when it is unlit. Middle Note: What you smell as the candle starts burning. Base Note: What you smell as the candle has been burning for a while (over an hour).
Why is there black smoke coming from my candle? When you don’t trim the wick before each burn, your candle will start producing soot. Always trim the wick ¼ inch before lighting and if you want to burn your candles for more than 4 hours then also extinguish the flame at intervals of 4 hours, let the candle cool, trim the wick and relight. Place the candles away from drafts as they may cause the candles to burn unevenly and can create smoke.
Why can't I smell my candle? Can’t smell the fragrance after lighting your candle? If you light and burn your candle for a short period of time and in a room that is too large and then immediately extinguish your candle you may not smell the fragrance. We suggest burning your candle for a minimum of two hours before judging the fragrance. Also, try burning in a smaller space and then do a smell check.

Can I re-use my candle jars? Absolutely! Here's how:
Freezer Method:
- Place your container in the freezer for a few hours.
- Remove the container and flip over, the frozen wax should pop right out.
- To remove the glued wick holder, add some water to the container after you have removed the wax and the container is at room temperature. (You don't want to remove from a cold freezer and then run under hot water, this will crack the jar.)
- If you don't want to soak, you can spray some alcohol in the jar and remove the wick holder with a paper towel (don't ruin that perfect manicure by using your fingernails)
- Do not use metal utensils to scrape the jar, this will remove the paint and leave scratches in your jar.
- Clean the container with soap and warm water and you're good to go!
Hot Water Method:
- Place your candle jar on a dish towel or pot holder
- Boil water to fill the jar and pour hot water into the jar
- The hot water will melt the leftover wax and it will float to the surface
- Discard wax in trash container, do not pour into your sink drain as this will clog your drain.
- Spray jar with alcohol and clean!
